Medical Marijuana

Chronic Pain, Along with Cancer, Epilepsy, AIDS, and Other Progressive Diseases, is Covered Under the Compassionate Care Act

Medical Marijuana laws in New York are evolving and the state is now allowing more people who have no other treatment or pain relief options to consider treatment with medical marijuana.

At Serenity Medical Consulting, our individualized treatment programs may alleviate the symptoms you desire to treat. Dr. Gregg Szerlip will guide you through the use and procurement of medical marijuana to enhance the quality of your life.

Recent studies have shown how it can possibly serve as potent treatment to opioid addiction.  Access to the right information and proper guidance, after all, leads to positive awareness and the power of choice.

Dr. Gregg Szerlip provides what you need as a patient: scientifically supported application of medical marijuana and holistic treatment extensions such as proper diet and lifestyle adjustments.

Benefits of Medical Marijuana

There is no question about the practical and scientific evidence that—there are benefits in cannabis for medicinal use. In fact, take a look at the patent the United States government owns on " "Cannabinoids as Antioxidants and Neuroprotectants".

Medical Marijuana

Cancer

A prevalent disease, there are many varieties of cancer—from skin to breast and lung cancer—but cannabis helps offset the harmful side effects of cancer treatment, which includes severe pain, nausea, and vomiting caused by chemotherapy. Invasive surgeries will warrant the use of drugs that can lead to adverse damage in a patient’s body. The cannabinoids in medical marijuana works to alleviate pain. Studies have shown that these cannabinoids activate certain pharmacologic responses from your nervous and immune systems, which then help trigger medical marijuana’s helpful capabilities in reducing cancerous tumors from spreading.

Peripheral Neuropathy

This condition primarily concerns damage in your nervous system. Marred nerves result to tingling, numbness, extreme pain, organ dysfunction, and paralysis. A herniated disc, for example, will require steroid injections, among other prescriptions, to counteract pain. Medical marijuana works as a good alternative to these steroids, anti-depressants, and anti-seizure medications for peripheral neuropathy. It provides extensive pain relief without the side effects of traditional and harsh prescriptions.

Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS)

Lou Gehrig’s disease is one of the most perplexing progressive diseases still without concentrated treatment. The THC properties in cannabis, however, can slow the disease and help extend the lives of patients. In treating the many ALS symptoms and relieving pain, medical marijuana makes a case as an effective treatment option.
